​The film stars Liam Neeson as Peyton Westlake, a scientist who is attacked and left for dead by a ruthless mobster, Durant after his girlfriend, an attorney runs afoul of a corrupt developer. Westlake survives, but is left with burns over most of his body. While hospitalized as a comatose John Doe, he is unwittingly subjected to a radical treatment that destroys the nerve endings connected to his skin, neutralizing his ability to sense physical pain but increasing his brain's emotional output to compensate. Now half-crazed, Westlake escapes the hospital and decides to get revenge on the criminals who took his life away, but now as a masked vigilante, known as Darkman.

This is one of the hero bandaged head appliances worn by Peyton Westlake / Darkman (Liam Neeson) in the Sam Raimi 1990 action thriller, Darkman. After spending all of his time manically perfecting the synthetic skins, Peyton Westlake (Neeson) cracks under the pressure! This is the fabric mask used during those scenes as Darkman destroys his research lair with a broken water pipe. The mask is made out of a combination of spandex material covered in distressed bandages. The mask also features Velcro and zipper closures, as well as 4 small safety pins, located along the bottom of the bandages, still left from production use. Due to production use and storage this item displays some light wear and fabric warping but overall this item remains in very good condition.

This is a bust of Peyton Westlake/Darkman (Liam Neeson) from Sam Raimi's 1990 comic adaptation Darkman. When scientist Westlake's (Neeson) girlfriend gets mixed up with some villainous business men, they come to him and rough him up, leaving him burnt and corroded, causing him to seek revenge and a cure. This is the model for Darkman's make-up once his skin has burned and dissolved. This foam latex bust is crafted in the shape of Liam Neeson's head except with layers of skin missing. Part of the face still has skin intact with small, singed hairs hand-punched into the head. The rest of the face consists of dark red, exposed muscle tissue stretched across the skull. There are even parts where the white cranium is exposed between the muscle tissue. This bust stands 16" (40cm) tall.
