Sofia Vergara

actress, comedienne, producer, television host, model and businesswoman.

My father told me if I did anything artistic, I would look like a hooker. I told him, "With these huge boobs that I inherited from your mother, I already look like a hooker!".

Sofia Vergara
Vergara is 1.70 m (5 ft 7 in) tall and has naturally blond hair, although for movies and television, she is sometimes asked to dye it brown to make her look more stereotypically Hispanic.
I'm a natural blonde. But when I started acting, I would go to auditions and they didn't know where to put me because I was voluptuous and had the accent--but I had blonde hair. It was ignorance: they thought every Latin person looks like Salma Hayek.
Latins, we're like that! We're very passionate and very loud and we scream and shout, but then we forget.
Sofia Vergara was widely known for co-hosting two television shows for Spanish-language television network Univisión in the late 1990s. Her first notable acting job in English was in the film Chasing Papi (2003). Subsequently, she appeared in other films, including Four Brothers (2005) and two Tyler Perry films—Meet the Browns (2008) and Madea Goes to Jail (2009), receiving an ALMA Award nomination for the latter. Vergara's success on television has earned her roles in recent films The Smurfs (2011), New Year's Eve (2011), Happy Feet Two (2011), The Three Stooges (2012), Escape from Planet Earth (2013) and Machete Kills (2013). In 2012 and 2013, she was the top-earning actress on US television.

Sofia Vergara Movies:

Big Trouble

Tim Allen, Rene Russo, Patrick Warburton, Janeane Garofalo. A Miami Herald columnist finds himself mixed up with hit men, cops and hippies all trying to find a metal suitcase containing a nuclear device. Based on humorist Dave Barry's first novel.

Chasing Papi

Handsome advertising executive Tomas "Papi" Fuentes (Eduardo Verastegui) is truly, deeply in love with three gorgeous women in three different cities. There's prim-and-proper Patricia (Jaci Velasquez) in New York, lovely Lorena (Roselyn Sanchez) in Chicago, and spicy Cici (Sofia Vergara) in Miami. But when all three arrive in L.A. to surprise Papi at home, the situation doesn't just heat up, it explodes!

The 24th Day

Two men are involved in an intense power struggle because of a one-night stand. Stars James Marsden, Scott Speedman, Sofia Vergara.

Soul Plane

Why just fly when you can soar with soul! An all-star cast, including Tom Arnold, Kevin Hart and hip-hop superstars Method Man and Snoop Dogg, takes to the skies in this "relentlessly raunchy" (The New York Times) comedy about a full-service airline complete with sexy stewardesses, a mack casino and the hottest dance club at 30,000 feet. Departing on its maiden voyage from the all-new Terminal X in Los Angeles, Soul Plane is a raucous ride that gives "fly" a whole new meaning!

Lords of Dogtown

Lords of Dogtown tells the radical true story behind three teenage surfers from Venice Beach, California, who took skateboarding to the extreme and changed the world of sports forever. Stacy Peralta, Tony Alva and Jay Adams are the Z-Boys, a bunch of nobodies until they create a new style of skateboarding that becomes a worldwide phenomenon. But when their hobby becomes a business, the success shreds their friendship. Directed by Catherine Hardwicke and written by Stacy Peralta, Lords of Dogtown is "...a dazzling daredevil ride."

Four Brothers

After their adoptive mother is murdered during a grocery store hold-up, the Mercer brothers--hotheaded Bobby, hard-edged Angel, family man and businessman Jeremiah, and hard rocking Jack--reunite to take the matter of her death into their own hands. As they track down the killer, they quickly realize that their old ways of doing business have new consequences.

Grilled

Meat connoisseurs will adore "Grilled", possibly the only film dedicated exclusively to high quality beef. Maurice (Ray Romano) and Dave (Kevin James) are meat salesmen roving the San Fernando Valley, armpit of America, for clients to buy their line of prime-cut steaks. Once they get a hold of the hottest leads in town, Maurice and Dave embark on a comedic adventure spiked with danger and sexual innuendo involving transvestites, gangsters, and even Burt Reynolds, playing the macho beef lover hosting his son'Äôs Bar Mitzvah. As soon as "Grilled" starts feeling like a carbon copy of "Glengarry Glen Ross", some hip actors, like Juliette Lewis cast as the drunken, suicidal girlfriend of a mob ringleader, make the film cooler like "Pulp Fiction". Sales made under ridiculously dire circumstances are sometimes corny, sometimes funny, odd, and surprising. Director Jason Ensler, known mostly for his work on television shows such as "West Wing", "South Beach", and "Scrubs", has taken the formulaic salesman flick and remade it into something almost original, were it not so similar to the abovementioned two movies. Still, there are many entertaining moments in "Grilled", especially when scenes of gang-related crime overlap with scenes proving these gangsters'Äô devotion to red meat. Eventually, carnage prevails, as Dave and Maurice teach us that the sale must be made at all costs.

National Lampoon's Pledge This!

Get ready for the raucous, unrated version of National Lampoon’s Pledge This! starring Paris Hilton and Paula Garces (Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle). A group of freshman female misfits will do anything to get into the Gamma, Gamma Sorority but first they’ll have to impress Gamma president Victoria (Paris Hilton) . Soon it’s all out class warfare between these pledges and the beautiful "it" girls who rule the sorority scene. It’s a hilarious comedy in the over-the-top tradition of the Old School and Van Wilder comedies.

Tyler Perry's Meet the Browns

Tyler Perry's Meet the Browns is a sitcom taken to the nth level. Brenda (Angela Bassett) is a single mom struggling to raise her family in Chicago. When she receives a letter inviting her to attend her father's funeral, she's not sure how to feel: Brenda never knew the man and hadn't interacted with that part of her family. But when she loses her job, she decides that now's the time to shake things up. (And, as a friend suggests, there's always the chance her father left her a little money.) While the film's central character grew up with incredible hardships (a prostitute for a mother and a pimp for a father who didn't stick around), writer-director-actor Perry takes every opportunity to inject a little humor into the vignettes. It is not her fault that she is too gorgeous and regal to be believable in the role, but Bassett--a superb dramatic actress--is sorely miscast here in a role where her subtleties are lost in all the fuss. Meet the Browns isn't Perry's best piece of work, but the fast-paced action and raucous dialogue provide enough fun to make the film worthwhile. With his name prefacing each movie, Perry has developed a franchise that doesn't fail to deliver what his fans are accustomed to: some variation of a dysfunctional family comedy and the appearance of his most famous character Madea--a cranky grandmother played by Perry himself that manages to draw laughs, even when her inclusion sometimes is superfluous.

Madea Goes to Jail

After a high-speed freeway chase puts Madea in front of the judge, her reprieve is short-lived as anger management issues get the best of her and land her in jail. A gleeful Joe couldn't be happier at Madea's misfortune. But Madea's eccentric family members, the Browns, rally behind her, lending their special "country" brand of support. Meanwhile, Assistant District Attorney Joshua Hardaway is on the fast track to career success. But Hardaway lands a case too personal to handle – defending young prostitute and former drug addict Candace Washington – and asks his fiancée and fellow Assistant District Attorney Linda Holmes to fill in on his behalf. When Candace ends up in jail, Madea befriends the young woman, protecting her in a "motherly" way as only Madea can.

New Year's Eve

New Year's Eve is all about parties, glitz, a midnight kiss, and maybe a few short-lived resolutions, right? Or could it be about something more? Valentine's Day writer Katherine Fugate and director Garry Marshall have once again joined forces to explore one of the most emotionally charged days of the year. Their uncanny ability to tell multiple stories at the same time, to intertwine those stories in the most unexpected ways, and to make sure viewers are emotionally invested in every single character makes the film an intriguing puzzle. Of course, a cast list that reads like an award-nomination roster doesn't hurt its success either. Among the host of "main characters" in the story is Claire Morgan (Hilary Swank), the woman in charge of the ball drop in Times Square. Naturally things don't go quite as planned and she's forced to do some serious on-the-spot improvising--oh, and it should be noted that she's deathly afraid of heights and there's somewhere else she really should be on New Year's Eve. Then there's the suddenly rebellious tween daughter Hailey (Abigail Breslin), who runs off to meet her boyfriend in Times Square for a New Year's Eve kiss, with her panicked mom (Sarah Jessica Parker) in hot pursuit. Mousy secretary Ingrid (Michelle Pfeiffer) decides to finally act on her long list of New Year's resolutions and enlists the unlikely help of courier Paul (Zac Efron). An exclusive New Year's Eve party throws together caterer Laura (Katherine Heigl), entertainer Jensen (Jon Bon Jovi), and sous chef Ava (Sofia Vergara). And then there's Sam (Josh Duhamel), a wealthy playboy who just can't seem to resist keeping an unlikely appointment to meet a mystery woman he met by chance last New Year's Eve and hasn't seen since (think An Affair to Remember and Sleepless in Seattle). Other notable talent includes Ashton Kutcher, Ryan Seacrest, Hector Elizondo, Halle Berry, Robert De Niro, Lea Michele, Cary Elwes, Seth Meyers, and a host of others. While this film could easily run like a parade of stars or a rehash of the successful Valentine's Day, it's a powerful film in its own right that leaves viewers pondering whether New Year's Eve might really be about second chances, hope, and embracing what will be.

The Three Stooges

The Three Stooges (Moe, Larry, Curly) are on a mission. Left on a doorstep of an Orphanage run by nuns, the young Trio grows up finger-poking, nyuk-nyuking and woo-woo-wooing their way into trouble. Now years later, with the Orphanage forced to close its doors, the Three Stooges embark on a wacky mission to save the Orphanage. Hilarious Mischief and Mayhem ensues.

Machete Kills

Danny Trejo returns as legendary ex-Federale Machete Cortez in this action-packed thrill ride from innovative director Robert Rodriguez. In his latest mission, Machete is recruited by the U.S. President (Carlos Estevez) to stop a crazed global terrorist (Mel Gibson) from starting a nuclear war. With a bounty on his head, Machete breaks all the rules as he faces death at every turn from a star-studded cast of deadly assassins. Featuring Michelle Rodriguez, Sofia Vergara, Amber Heard, Antonio Banderas, Cuba Gooding, Jr. and Demian Bichir, Machete Kills is “Absurdly entertaining. Defies expectations!” (Harry Knowles, Ain’t It Cool News). It’s one of the wildest save-the-world adventures ever captured on film!

Fading Gigolo

''Murray (Woody Allen) talks his friend Fioravante (John Turturro) into becoming a gigolo as a way of making some much needed cash after an out-of-the-blue request from his dermatologist (Sharon Stone). With Murray acting as Fioravante's ''''manager,'''' the duo quickly finds themselves caught up in the crosscurrents of love and money. Also stars Vanessa Paradis, Live Schreiber and Sofa Vergara.''

Chef

Jon Favreau (writer, director and producer) leads a hilarious all-star cast including Sofía Vergara, Scarlett Johansson, John Leguizamo, Bobby Cannavale, Dustin Hoffman, Oliver Platt, Robert Downey Jr. and young actor Emjay Anthony in this deliciously entertaining comedy about starting from scratch. When gifted chef Carl Casper (Favreau) suddenly quits his demanding job at a trendy LA restaurant, he's on his own to pick up the pieces of his once promising career. Finding himself in Miami, he decides to team up with his successful ex-wife (Vergara), best friend (Leguizamo) and son (Anthony) to launch a no-frills food truck business. Taking to the road, Carl reignites his passion for the kitchen and, along the way, discovers a renewed zest for life and love.

Wild Card

Nick Wild (Jason Statham) is a Las Vegas bodyguard with lethal professional skills and a personal gambling problem. When a friend is beaten by a sadistic thug, Nick strikes back, only to find out the thug is the son of a powerful mob boss. Suddenly Nick is plunged into the criminal underworld, chased by enforcers and wanted by the mob. Having raised the stakes, Nick has one last play to change his fortunes...and this time, it's all or nothing.

Hot Pursuit

An uptight and by-the-book cop (Reese Witherspoon) tries to protect the sexy and outgoing widow (Sofia Vergara) of a drug boss as they race through Texas pursued by crooked cops and murderous gunmen.
