Daywalker is a vampire hunter

Blade grew up living at Madame Vanity's, and at age nine, returning home from school one December, he saw an old man being attacked by three vampires. Blade helped the old man, who used a silver cane to kill the vampires and fight off the attackers. The man was Jamal Afari, a jazz trumpeter and vampire-hunter who then moved into Madame Vanity's and trained the young Blade in both music and combat. Blade was soon able to defeat many of the weak, younger vampires that he and Afari found in abundance. Blade became an Olympic-level athlete and a formidable hand-to-hand combatant, with an expertise in edged weapons such as knives and daggers.
The character went on to star and co-star in several comic book series as well as a Blade film series and television series. Actor Wesley Snipes portrayed the vampire hunter in the Blade film series while Kirk "Sticky Fingaz" Jones took on the role for the television series.

Wesley Snipes returns as the day-walking vampire hunter in the explosive third and final film of the Blade franchise, Blade: Trinity. For years, Blade has fought against the vampires in the cover of night, with the world above unaware of the brutal ongoing war. But now, after falling into the crosshairs of the FBI, he is forced out into the daylight, where he is driven to join forces with a clan of human vampire hunters he never knew existed – the Nightstalkers. Together with Abigail (Jessica Biel) and Hannibal (Ryan Reynolds), two deftly trained Nightstalkers, Blade follows a trail of blood to the ancient creature that is also hunting him … the original vampire, Dracula. Blade: Trinity is written and directed by David S. Goyer, who has written all three films in the trilogy, based on characters created for the comic book.

Blade's (Wesley Snipes) SFX Sword

Blade's (Wesley Snipes) SFX Sword from Stephen Norrington's 1998 vampire action film, Blade. In the film, a half-vampire half-human vigilante known as Blade faces off again Deacon Frost (Stephen Dorff) and a cult of blood thirsty vampires. Although Blade carries an impressive arsenal, his weapon of choice is this modified sword that releases four hidden blades when handled by an unfamiliar user. This gag is seen several times in the film. The sword features long aluminum blade with dull edges that is attached to a resin hilt with four small spring loaded blades that are also made from aluminum. The smaller SFX blades are retractable and can fit into the hilt, though they naturally rest in the extended position. The sword has a small hole in the bottom of the hilt, where a cable originally was connected, which could be pulled to cause the short blades to retract into the handle. The neck collar piece on the sword, which is sometimes seen rotating in the film, is cast in a fixed position on this piece. With the SFX blades extended, this item measures approximately 7" x 7" x 36" (18cm x 18cm x 91cm)
